Director at PVcomB/HZB and Professor at HTW Berlin
Since 2008, Rutger Schlatmann is director of the institute PVcomB at the Helmholtz-Zentrum Berlin, where he is currently speaker of the renewable energy division as well. He is a full professor at the Hochschule fuer Technik und Wirtschaft Berlin (since 2012).
He obtained his PhD at the FOM Institute Amolf in Amsterdam. From 1999 until 2008 he worked as R&D manager and management team member at Helianthos BV (AkzoNobel/Shell Solar/Nuon), a company developing flexible thin film Si solar modules.
Currently he is a member of the Steering Committee of the ETIP PV, the European Technology&Innovation Platform PV, where he leads the WG Integrated PV.
He also serves as vice President of the Berlin Brandenburg Energy Network.
